grade 7/8 : room 9 with Mr.Vescarelli 2016/17
We have finally received some new textbooks and themes to better teach the new Core French Curriculum at Cliffside. The new series is called "C'est Parti!" (the French way of saying something like 'it's on!"), and it presents topics in a new format that will ideally make it easier for students to learn and use French through a more communicative approach. Students may not notice too much difference, except for a less rigid set of vocabulary and grammar for them to learn within each topic, and more opportunities for them to communicate in French with each other.
While there is no specific defined vocabulary or grammar for the students to learn through each topic (nor are there any rigid expectations in the curriculum), I will be
'topping up' each topic with extra related vocabulary and grammar, and extending certain topics in some ways where there is interest or a need.
Here is the planned sequence of topics for this school year, to be interspersed with other seasonal topics from time to time :
1. "MON CANADA" (Canadian culture and the various ways we celebrate it across the country)
2. "JE VEUX JE PEUX" (individual talents and how build skills to achieve your goals)
3. "COMPLÈTEMENT TECHNO" (technology and the various ways it affects our lives)
4. "D'UN OCÉAN À L'AUTRE" (various elements of Francophone culture across Canada)
